Course Overview
If you’ve ever crammed for a test, you already know the result — superficial learning that disappears quickly. But most teachers haven’t been taught why that happens or what the alternative looks like. This course digs into the neuroscience behind memory and information retention, then translates that science into specific changes you can make in how you deliver content.
Oakley, Rogowsky, and Sejnowski show what’s actually happening in the brain when students learn, forget, and retain — and detail the steps teachers need to take to tap into long-term memory more efficiently. You’ll walk away questioning your current pedagogical practices and armed with research-backed strategies for helping students learn and remember more.
