Jennifer Serravallo’s approach to writing instruction is built on a straightforward conviction: help students set clear goals, then give them the strategies and feedback to reach those goals. Her book is organized around ten writing goals, each with the resources teachers need to understand it and teach toward it — making it a practical reference you’ll return to long after the course ends.

Designed to supplement any writing workshop or basal curriculum, this course will help you create writing units, set individual goals for student writers, differentiate instruction, and deliver feedback that actually moves writing forward. The approach is goal-directed and strategy-driven, giving you a system rather than a collection of one-off lessons.
